Amethyst Peace Creator Care Guide
Your Amethyst Peace Creator is designed to be worn and treasured. These simple steps will help protect its finish, stones, and structure.
Caring for your crown
Your Amethyst Peace Creator needs very little. The most important habits are simple: keep it dry, and keep it out of strong sun. Take it off before showering, bathing, saunas, or swimming. And keep it away from long, direct sunlight and heat, which can fade the deep color of its amethyst.
When you take it off, support the centerpiece with one hand so the amethyst doesn't swing or knock against anything. Give the back of the centerpiece and the chain a quick wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
If it ever looks dull, polish the smooth silver lightly with a silver polishing cloth, keeping the cloth off the amethyst and out of the filigree openings, where it can catch. A soft, dry makeup brush lifts dust from the filigree.
A few more things to keep in mind:
- Set it down gently. Amethyst is hard, but a large stone can chip if it strikes a hard edge.
- Keep perfume and hairspray off the amethyst, since they can leave a haze.
- Put it on after skincare, makeup, and hair products have dried.
If the silver ever looks a little yellow or gray, that's natural tarnish. A few light strokes with a silver polishing cloth will bring it back. A little darkening deep in the filigree sets off the dark amethyst beautifully, so polish only as much as you like.
Where to keep it
Lay your crown flat, amethyst face up, with the chain laid out straight or coiled loosely so it doesn't tangle. Somewhere dark is best, since darkness keeps the amethyst's color deep.
If you live somewhere humid or near the coast, seal it in a zip bag or container with an anti-tarnish strip when you're not wearing it, with nothing resting on the centerpiece. Never store it in the bathroom, where steam speeds tarnish.
If you'd like to keep it on your altar, choose a spot well out of direct sunlight and away from candle flames, and rest it on a soft cloth or a selenite plate. Silver tarnishes a little faster in open air, so give it a light polish now and then.
Cleansing its energy
To energetically cleanse and recharge your crown, rest it under the light of the full moon overnight, or lay it on a selenite crystal or plate. Moonlight is especially kind to amethyst, renewing it without fading it. Just move it before the morning sun reaches it.
